I have always been an active person. I ran daily and worked out in the gym regularly. I had had several physical trainers along the way, so I thought I knew how to exercise properly and stay in shape. My sister-in-law had heard about this new studio – Bodies by Pilates – and thought we ought to give it a try. I remember thinking to myself, “This should be a piece of cake for me . . ..”
Well it’s not until you really get into Pilates that you find out how much you don’t know about your body! I was surprised to see how weak I was – particularly in my core! Paula awakened me to proper posture, abdominal strength, balance, purposeful breathing, and the mind body connection so centric to Pilates instruction. This isn’t something you learn at the gym!
I’ve been practicing Pilates with Paula now for 10 years (twice a week & I hate to miss!). I’m 57 and I don’t think I’ve ever been in better physical shape. Paula pays close attention to each of her clients; she designs specific exercises that aids them in their other physical activities as well as corrects weaknesses that could lead to injuries. I just can’t thank Paula & her studio enough for keeping my mind & my body strong and in balance.
